Long-time Friend/Cheerleader & Artist/Musician Shelley was a friend of mine in the mid-90’s. She would visit me in Florida. She had a great sense of humor. I was drawn to her musical ability and I would travel to hear her play with Ann Seale, when she played keyboards for the Ann Seale traveling band. She dearly missed her older brother Barry Kiener and she was very attached to Steven Kiener and her parents. I too had funny pet names for Shelley and her father even had a pet name for me. I loved visiting with her in Rochester and we would always go to the George Eastman House & Museum. I photographed Shelley‘s Artwork, miniature multiple tableaux, which were these incredibly tiny replicas of shops with even tinier vintage items, re-created accurately in the shop windows to complete the tiny view. She had a complex artists’ mindset and was extremely clever in her detail & choice of materials with which she created these miniatures tableaux. It seemed like the time period for these picturesque tableaux was in the 1940’s, the 1950’s, and the 1960’s, giving permission to one to indulge in reminiscence of such quaint and picturesque shops/ stores with unique replicas of objects from the past related to each shop-front grouping. My 2 favorite tableaus were the Pharmacy because of the attention to detail and the ‘Movie Theater’ with miniature marques of actual movies. Shelley had these photographs along with slides of each Tableau that I photographed. She had hoped that she could sell them in Big Apple Art Gallery someday. The photos were for her submit to various art dealers. God Bless her family. I will search for some photos to post. ~ June Parlett-Norsworthy, Tampa, Florida
