I met Lee about 5 years ago while my husband Frank worked out at Cardiac Rehab. From the first time Frank introduced me to Lee, every time I popped in, Lee would greet me with a smile and a great big hello. Always a gentleman, Lee was kind, genuine, and sincerely interested in what you had to say. When I asked how he was doing, Lee never had a complaint but usually a clever comment.... he had a good sense of humor. We are both saddened by his passing and will miss this special man. I know Lee from Cardiac Rehab at Unity Ridgeway. He always would come in with a smile on his face and a hearty "Hi Rick". We would talk about motorcycles and he would always ask if I "had the bike today." His presence will be missed by all.

Lee has had a big influence on me during the short time I have known him at RHC Cardio Rehab. We had interesting conversations comparing his Ben Franklin High, class of 1946 with my experiences at East High ten years later. Franklin still had it better! Lee loved Jazz and 90.1 FM. He inspired me to dig out my collection, buy a couple of speakers, and begin enjoying the music again; although I don't think anyone can enjoy Big Band Jazz as much as Lee did. He was an enthusiastic supporter of cardio; his enthusiasm encouraged many of us to keep moving and exercising. When my knee started gettingLee has had a big influence on me during the short time I have known him at RHC Cardio Rehab. He was an enthusiastic supporter of cardio, encouraged many of us to keep moving and exercising. When my knee started getting more painful, he helped me decide to opt for surgery, rather than suffer for 30 years like he did. So far, so good. Thanks Lee. No more pain. Lots of flying, music, and everything you love.

Kauffman family: On behalf of the VA Medical Center, we send our condolences. Lee volunteered with us for 24 years and accumulated nearly 10,000 volunteer hours. He was a true gentleman; a nice guy and always easy going. He regularly transported Veterans to and from clinic appointments and made a difference in their lives. He made an impact here, and will be truly missed.
