Dear Marilyn,
It is so unbelievable to hear of Phil's passing. I had no idea he was so ill. I am so sorry that you and your family are going through such a difficult time. At least it seems he was spared the pain and suffering of a long illness. I hope that brings you some peace. My prayers are with you all.

Marilyn,
We are so sorry to hear of Phil's unexpected illness and subsequent passing. You two were the prototypical TCR couple, so friendly and welcoming. We will miss Phil for all of his diligent organizing of the Monday and Thursday groups and his competitive yet friendly play. I have fond memories of having Phil as my partner in last year's over 65 tourney. He was the consumate gentleman tennis player and partner. All of us have lost a good friend and all-around nice guy. TCR will not be the same without Phil.
Our condolences,
Gus and Annette Thompson

Marilyn,we are so sorry that you have lost Phil. But we all know that it is inevitable that one of us will have to spend a few year at the end with out the other. The 50 years that you and Phil enjoyed are more that most couples have the good luck to share. If you think of those happy years when ever you are feeling alone it will, I hope, bring back many happy memories.
With love,
Helene and Gene

Dear Marilyn, Pam and I are very saddened by the news of Phil’s passing. You and Phil were some of the very first people we met at a TCR tennis round robin some nine years ago. You made us feel very welcome. We also will never forget the wonderful boat ride last year on Sarasota Bay with Captain Phil and First Mate Marilyn. Those are just two small examples of how you touched ours and many others lives. He will be truly missed.

Dear Marilyn,
Helen and I send our deepest sympathy in the loss of Phil.
A few years back, as you know, Phil said he didn't have a brother. I asked him if this Lebanese American could adopt a Jewish American as his brother. We became brothers in God.
In Florida, on March 31, Phil e-mailed me regarding his courageous battle. Part of it read: "I wish I had a brother like you when I was growing up. Life would have been so much richer." My dear brother Phil, how rich I was to have you for a brother, even for a short while. I'll see you later. Fred
