Obituary of Garson Merimsky

Garson Merimsky May 18, 1912 - June 11, 2016. passed away peacefully at the age of 104. Garson, a native Rochesterian, will be remembered by so many as a kind & gentle man. A University of Rochester graduate, he was a local businessman, wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle & friend. He took great pleasure in exercise, keeping up on local & national news, & watching the Buffalo Bills. Garson is preceded by his wife Rose; sisters, Mildred Segelin & Sarah Hollander. He is survived by his son, Howard (Pamela) Merimsky; daughter, Sandra Merimsky; grandchildren, Lauren & Bryan; sister, Freda Bernhardt; nieces & nephews. Special thanks to Lynn's Angels for their loving care given to Garson and the loving staff at Brookdale of Brighton. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11 AM in Riverside Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the main entrance. The family will receive friends at Brookdale Brighton, 2001 S. Clinton Avenue on Monday from 1-4 PM. Donations may be made to Temple Emanu-El or any charity of your choice in his memory.
