Obituary of Rosa Spivak

Rosa Spivak Passed away peacefully on September 1, 2014. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonid (Noach) Spivak; parents, Sholom & Genia Golod; sister, Faina Livshits & brother-in-law, Mihail Livshits. She will be greatly missed by devoted sons, Alex (Georgia) Spivak & Igor (Michal) Spivak; grandchildren, Shaun, Noah & Ellie; sister, Berta (Peter) Bekker; nephew, Leonard (Suzie) Michaels, niece, Kira Mayorga & many loving cousins & dear friends. Rosa was born in Bobruisk, Belarus and moved to Minsk with her husband Leonid to raise their family. Rosa survived the hardships of World War II and many other adversities under the Soviet rule thereafter. In 1980, seeking a better life and freedom, Rosa and her family immigrated to the United States where they were able to enjoy economic, political and religious freedoms. Rosa was always known as a strong, positive and upbeat woman who completely dedicated herself to her family. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed cooking delicious food, picking fruits, making jam, reading, and taking long walks in the park, but what she prized most was caring for her children and grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the warm & caring staff of 3 SW of the Jewish Home. She will be forever loved & missed. Funeral Services were held in Grand Rapids, MI. The family will receive friends at 330 Grosvenor Road on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Monday & Tuesday from 7-9 PM. Click here for directions to the house of mourning. The family will receive friends at 330 Grosvenor Road on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Monday & Tuesday from 7-9 PM.
