Obituary of Dan Bratu

Born on October 5, 1920 in Stefanesti, Romania, Dan passed away on January 28, 2017. Predeceased by his wife, Fani; a brother & sister. Survived by his loving daughter, Anca (Dr. Adrian) Leibovici; granddaughter, Dr. Monica (Dan) Ranaletta; great-grandchildren, Esther & Henry; nieces & nephews. His was a hard life but a rich life. Wits, courage & determination helped him survive through harsh times and places. He fought in WW II against the Nazis, worked hard 24-hour shifts as a journalist in Romania, and with his wife, joined his family in this country some 30 years ago serving exemplary as father, grandfather & great-grandfather to a loving family who will always miss him. The family wants to express gratitude to his many caregivers over the years with special mention for his personal physician Dr. Benedetto Tarantino, and all the wonderful staff at the Jewish Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 1 PM in the Benjamin Goldstein Chapel of Temple B'rith Kodesh (2131 Elmwood Ave.) Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jewish Senior Life Foundation in his memory.
