Obituary of Andrew Lyon Kohn

Andrew Lyon Kohn Died May 28, 2012. Andrew, known by his long-time friends and family as “Andy,” was born on March 17, 1953. He grew up in West Hartford, CT, attending Kingswood and Loomis Schools and was a member of Westledge School’s first graduating class in 1971. He attended Lake Forest College and graduated from The University of Hartford in 1975. Andrew became Vice President of Sales for his family’s manufacturing business, Amcam, located in Farmington, CT. He spent over 40 years in the automation components industry; the last 6 as a Sales Manager for Hong Kong based Nam Wah Precision Group. He leaves his wife of 20 years Martha Kohn; his two daughters Sarah and Julia; his mother Judith Pinney of West Hartford, CT; and his brother and best friend Peter Kohn and Peter’s wife Jeryl of Richmond, VA. His father, Jerome C. Kohn of West Hartford predeceased him in 1993. He also leaves his sister-in-law Peg Hart; his nephew Gabe and wife Lilith and their 2 children Robyn and Sam Hart and his nephews Ben and Dan Hart all of Rochester, along with numerous friends from around the globe. Andrew was a warm, gentle, soul with a very kind heart. He loved skiing and gourmet cooking and dining. He was passionate about travel, reading, consumer electronics, music and playing the guitar. He was a true “road warrior” regularly visiting customers and suppliers in North America, Asia and Europe. A Memorial Service will be held in the Main Sanctuary of Temple B’rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Click here for directions.
