Obituary of Leonard Rubens

Leonard Rubens Passed away on March 26, 2014 at age 87. Predeceased by son, Peter M. Rubens; parents, Sarester & Lester Rubens. Len is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jane W.; son, James (Jami); daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandsons, Jacob, Jonathan, Jared & Eli; sister-in-laws, Lois Rubens & Lorraine Katzman; nieces & nephews; very special cousins, Linda & Bobbi Rubens; & caring friends, The Barnett family. Len was an avid skier, snowshoer, tennis & bridge player. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Len owned Rubens-Royal Uniform Co. for 40 years & upon retirement was a tax advisor for H&R Block Co. He was active in the community serving as a board member of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, President of the Rochester Safety Council, President of Irondequoit Country Club & served on the boards of Temple B’rith Kodesh, Jewish Federation, Israel Bonds & the National Association of Uniform Manufacturers. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2 PM at the Summit at Brighton (2000 Summit Circle Dr.).
