Obituary of Allen H. Shankman
Allen H. Shankman
Passed away January 30, 2017 at age 73. Predeceased by his parents, David "Donny" Shankman and Sylvia (Shankman) Knobler, and his sister, Francine Scrivani. He is survived by his wife, Diana Boucher; his sons, David (Tracey) and Neal (Carey Farrell) Shankman; their mother, Sally Shankman; his stepchildren, Aaron (Ruth Blackwell) Boucher, Lara (Keith) Parker, and Dana (Campion) Dechant; grandchildren, Claudia Shankman, Sophia and Anneliese Parker; cousins and many friends.
Allen passed away peacefully early Monday morning after a sudden illness, surrounded by beloved family.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and was graduated from Adelphi University in 1964. He was an accomplished Realtor for 40 years who, through his work, helped countless families settle in and around Rochester, creating a large circle of friends and colleagues in the process. He was a bibliophile with a passion for classic works of European history and a fondness for detective fiction. He loved both classical and classic country music, marching bands and Lawrence Welk. His confidence, kindness, and dry wit will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
