Dear Betty, After Scott died someone said to us that its not death that brings us the greatest loss, but all that dies inside of us. After attending Sam's moving and meaningful service, I know you all will continue the celebration of his love for life. We were deeply moved by the meaningful comments made by your children. You and your family showed a spiritual strength that helped us to mourn with you. The many people who came to the service is certainly a tribute to Sam and to the love and remarkable support he received from all of you throughout his illness and his life. We have been fortunate and blessed to have known you and Sam for so many years. Although Sam is no longer with us I am certain the legacy of his kind and gentle spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him. Please know your sorrow deeply touches us and we mourn your loss as though it was our own. May you all find comfort and consolation in the warm and fond memories of Sam your children so lovingly and eloquently expressed at his service. Betty, we will look forward to seeing you in the coming months. We share your sorrow and if we can ever be of any help, please do not hesitate to call us. With many caring and loving thoughts, Judi and John Sturge
