My husband, Robert Matthews, and I met 'Mr. K.' when in our early 20s. He was a professional friend and ethical guide for us through many transactions; a wonderful legacy.
My heartfelt condolences to all of you. Leon was unique. Dan and I enjoyed our association with him ,Betty, you "kids" and the lively CAMERA meetings. May his name be for a blessing.
Mr. Katzen's friendship and warmth will be missed at Beth Sholom services. He was an honorable man, whose deep convictions on Israel's welfare and media honesty are so appreciated.
Leon and Betty were such role models of so many virtues. Their marriage, their love of family, their devotion to their many communities, their knowledge and so many other traits, skills, and gifts. They were important to so many. I learned so much from both of them.
Leon was the consumate professional as well as a supportive friend and advocate to my parents and our family for many years. A class act with incredibly expressive eye brows. My condolences to the family.
