How can I ever forget the first time I met Shirley? I had flown in to Rochester from Wisconsin to visit Shirley and her youngest daughter, Denise. I knew Shirley must be a wonderful person because she was Denise’s mother. Denise has been my very best friend for over thirty years now. Shirley was truly amazing! I’ll never forget the day I began to do the dishes in her kitchen!!! She promptly let me know that “No one but Shirley” does the dishes in this house! That was fine with me because I don’t even like to do dishes. Shirley and Denise made me feel at home and like one of the family. Their hospitality was genuine and abundant. My heart goes out to all of you in this time of loss. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I only wish I could be there with you now, but especially for Denise. Many hugs are being sent with this memorial.
