Obituary of George Roth

George Roth Died on April 7, 2014. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ann Roth, his sons and daughters-in-law, Neil Roth & Jorian Gettler Roth, Evan Roth & Sara Page; five grandchildren, David, Marisa, Jackson, Anders and Gareth. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Roth; and son, Eric Roth. Born in the Bronx, he served during World War II as a medic in the 106th Infantry. In December 1944, he was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge and held in a Prisoner of War Camp until April 1945, when he was liberated by Russian cavalry. For forty years, he was the owner of Roth Realtors in Rochester, New York, and in 1979 and 1980, he was the President of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. He and Ann retired to Sarasota, Florida, where they resided for more than 30 years. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the arts, and a volunteer for the Sarasota Ballet. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 10 AM in the Benjamin Goldstein Chapel of Temple B'rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue. Click here for directions to the temple.
