Dear Ed and family,
Beyond remembering your mother in her many active roles in the community, I hold two aspects of those memories particularly dear. I recall volunteering years ago at the Brighton Library when she worked there - and she was always a pleasure, helpful, with a kind smile and smart as a whip was your mom. More recently, I have been helping facilitate semi-monthly Shabbat services at Gables/Brookdale for the past few years and often saw your mom there when I came by. I would always say, "are you coming to services, Sarah?", and, if she felt up to it, she would come and quietly enjoy the singing and prayers with her sweet smile.
She remembered me and called me by name. The other residents valued and loved her - and it was no wonder. I am so sorry that she has been ailing...and is now gone. But certainly her spirit is strong and is in all of you. So she carries on. Memories may be intangible but they are very real, and life lessons stretch well beyond a person's time on this earth. May her memory always be a blessing.
With much sympathy,
Cathy Harris (Marc, Ryan and Rachel Broser's mom)
