Obituary of Rabbi Myron Movsky
Rabbi Myron B. Movsky
Passed away June 26, 2013 at age 95. He was pre-deceased by parents, Philip and Rose Gordon Movsky; wife, Hadassah Hollander Movsky; brothers, Edward, William, Herbert, and Harold; sister, Evelyn Lichter, and son-in-law Michael Mayer. He is survived by daughter, Peggy Mayer of Denver, CO; son, David S. (Bev) Movsky; grandchildren, Jonathan Mayer, Rebeccah (Rabbi Maurice) Appelbaum, and Danielle (Michael) Hoenig; great-grandchildren, Helen, Rami & Sima Appelbaum, Isaac Hoenig.
Rabbi Movsky was ordained by Yeshiva University, 1942 and will be remembered as the beloved Rabbi of Synagogues in Lima, OH, Kalamazoo, MI, Waukegan, IL, and Cheyenne, WY. We will cherish his memory and everything he taught us forever.
Graveside Services will be held at the Britton Road Cemetery, Friday at 3PM. Click here for a map to the cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at 500 Winton Road South (corner Winton and Palmerston) through Thursday morning, 8AM. Shacharis will take place on Sunday morning at 8AM, and on Monday through Thursday at 7AM. Mincha-Ma'ariv will take place on Sunday through Wednesday at 8:35PM.Click here for a map to the Shiva House.
Donations may be made to Congregation Beth Sholom, the Hollander Chumash Fund at Hillel Community Day School, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
