Joan just let me know about your Mom. I can truly say she was my best friend. The miles have separated us over these last few years but that doesn't diminish my wonderful memories of being with your Mom and Dad. Stony Brook park picnics, dinners together, casino trips in the past, etc. Of course, Wendy's for a baked potato, sitting at a semi-reserved table there, Wegman's food bar, etc. Our wonderful fun meeting each other at the beauty parlor. She, under the hair dryer, always with a book in her hand.
Your Mom was gifted with a positive outlook on life. She spoke often about her kids and grandchildren, so proud of each one. She enjoyed every trip she took. In her later years, she would say the current trip would be her last, until the next one would come up and off she went. I think her suitcase was always packed.
She included people around her into her circle. At the Wolk Manor, she stated her dinner partners were at the best table there and she kept current with all the news of the day.
I wish you all the most wonderful memories of your Mom in this time of sorrow. My love to you all, Florence
