To Elyse and Family--with our deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved Mother, Florence. Years ago Florence and Joan were good tennis buddies and years before that Jerry was Beryl's private Hebrew teacher, so we have many happy memories of your parents. Florence was a blessing to all who knew her. Love, Joan and Beryl

I would like to extend my sympathy to the Gordon and Capell families. Florence was a wonderful, spiritual and loving person and a good friend. I first met her at the TBK choir and we sang together whenever she was in town. When she moved to the Summit and needed a ride to services, we drove together and I welcomed her company. I enjoyed singing with her at Shabbat services while my husband's parents lived at the Wolk and remember how loving and caring she was to all the residents and their visitors. I last saw Florence just before I left for Florida in December and she was sick but hopeful that she would win this battle. She spoke lovingly of all her family every time I was with her. I'm sorry I wasn't here to visit her one more time. I will miss her.

I just returned from the service...it was a lovely tribute to Florence. Rob and I heard about how ill Florence was in the past few weeks. I mentioned her name at our services at Congregation Etz Chaim. She told me at the last TBK Sisterhood Shabbat that she was diagnosed with cancer, but I didn't know until a couple weeks ago how quickly it had advanced. Florence and I sang together on many occasions, and for a short time I attended the senior choir at the JCC to sing with her. She was so uplifting--always. I didn't see her all that often in the past few years but she was always so happy to see me, and I her. It was at one of my daughters Bat Mitzvah parities 13 yrs ago that we introduced her to Ron Schwartz. That was the beginning of a long and close relationship with Ron and his family and Florence, especially when they figured out they were relatives! Rob and I extend our deepest sympathy to Elise and Walter, Marc and Suzanne and Robert and Leslie and all their children.

Florence always reached out to the students in my special ed. classes at Brith Kodesh for so many years: she was caring and supportive. I still use her song sheets with groups. She was a talented and inspiring teacher of Jewish music. I always looked forward to seeing her at the Jewish Film Festival as well each summer. I will miss her.

Mrs. Gordon touched the lives of so many young people as our music teacher at TBK. Her caring manner and her spirit were one of the influences on me becoming a teacher at TBK where I teach the Kindergarten class on Sundays.
A truly special person....I will miss her.

Mrs. Gordon was my Hebrew and music teacher at B'rith Kodesh for many years in the 1970s. I sang on the album she made of the TBK kids singing jewish songs. I most recently saw her when she came to my father's unveiling in 2008 and and we reminisced about the good old days at TBK. She was a wonderful person and a great teacher and will be greatly missed.

It was my pleasure to know your mother, who was a shining Jewish star for The Summit at Brighton. Her pride in her family took center stage, followed closely by the students she taught and kept in touch with over the years. This past Chanukah, though her voice was weak, she came to lead her neighbors and friends in song. Her light will shine in our hearts always.
