Obituary of Gerald R. Katz

Gerald R. Katz Passed away on July 28, 2013 at age 95. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth (Gordon) Katz; parents, Abe & Sarah Katz; brothers, Sidney & Beryl Katz. He is survived by his devoted children, Linda Katz & Robert (Ann) Katz; sister, Gloria Sherman of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, nephews and friends. Gerald was a decorated combat officer of World War II, serving with the 194th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre. He received both the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with Oak Leaf cluster. Gerald was a longtime member of Temple Beth El and the Irondequoit Country Club. He and his brother Beryl were the owners of Weathermaster Company, Inc. of Henrietta. He enjoyed golf, reading, the outdoors and traveling, but his true love was his family. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 1 PM in the Rabbi Abraham Solomon Chapel of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Rd. S. Click for a Map to Temple). Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
