Ruth Chesler Krawetz
January 11, 1917 – February 20, 2013
Survived by her daughter, Daya (Dan) Solomon and her grandchildren who were the light of her life - Matanya, Meera (Matt Facemyer) and Deva (Heidi) Solomon as well as nephews and nieces in Rochester. Predeceased by Harry, her beloved husband of 59 years; brothers, Irving and Martin Chesler and great grandson Jonah Henry Solomon.
The daughter of Harry and Minnie Rose Chesler, Ruth was born, married, and spent much of her life in Rochester. She lived as a child for a short time in Bedford, MA and in Florida from 1974 to 1999. After the death of her husband in 1999, Ruth moved to West Virginia to be with her family. In 2006 Ruth visited Rochester to celebrate her upcoming 90th birthday in her favorite city with friends and family.
After graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School, Ruth worked at Kodak. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, belonged to two bridge clubs, was a lifetime member of Hadassah, and was a member of Temple Beth David.
Ruth’s family wishes to thank many caring people in West Virginia, including Tree of Life Synagogue; The Madison Center; Dr. Delagarza; Central West Virginia Aging Services; De Yeager; and some of the staff at the Arbors who cared for her including her aides, dietary staff, housekeeping, activities, and rehab.
Friends and family are welcome to join the Solomon Family on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 4PM to remember Ruth and celebrate her life at the Tree of Life Synagogue, 242 S. High St, Morgantown, WV 26501. Click here for directions.
