Obituary of Shirley R. Axelrod
Passed away on July 6, 2016, at the age of 92. Predeceased by her husband, Howard Axelrod; parents, Phillip and Fannie (Lippman) Vick; brothers, Joseph Vick and Arthur Vick. Survived by her children, Diane Pariser, Glenn (Helena) Axelrod and Ted (Mara) Axelrod; grandchildren, Samuel, Jordan, James, Jacob, Jehanna & Joshua Axelrod and Emily Lowe; nieces, Roslyn (Leonard) Metzger, Beverly Rubenstein and Honora (Alan) Saks; and many dear friends.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a respected member of the community and devoted her time to her many friends and to many community causes. Most particularly to The Jewish Home, where she volunteered in various capacities from childhood through her eighties.
Graveside Services held privately.
The family will sit Shiva on FRIDAY from 1 - 4 PM at 7 Sunrise Park in Pittsford and on SUNDAY from 2 - 4 PM at The Jewish Home.
Donations may be made to Jewish Senior Life Foundation (The Jewish Home of Rochester) in Shirley’s memory.
