I'm so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. I knew him from Sperry Hall at Cornell. I recall him being a warm and friendly guy to whom people naturally flocked. Someone who could really enjoy life deeply and make the people around him enjoy it as well. I am heartened to see that he was able to make his way in life to something he loved doing and to have had a profound positive effect on the people around him. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

5 years ago as a sophomore in college, I worked closely with David as he helped shape me into a professional triathlete. Like most triathletes, I asked tons of questions which he always thoroughly and promptly responded to. Although we have since lost touch, I continue to follow a core workout he gave me, and today I thought of him when I was completing the workout. I decided to look him up and was shocked to find this page... I hope he knows how grateful I am for his caring coaching and advice that I've passed on to other athletes. I will never forget his thorough and helpful posts on triatlete.com. Cindy, I hope you are doing okay and I will be thinking of you.

I "met" David on a triathlon board online and soon became a client of his after realizing how brilliant, caring and wonderful he was. He helped me better understand my body, both the physical and mental, helped me through injury and over-training and just plain made my life better by knowing him. His wisdom and caring reached far beyond training and working out. He came to be someone I wanted to make proud. I wanted to be a better person because of him and indeed, my life is the better for knowing him.

I hated working out, but David's dedication kept me going right to the end. I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for David's dedication and caring. Since then we have always been in touch and everytime I ran into a problem I called him. He talked with my Doctor's in Cleveland and Rochester to do the right thing. Just last September, I had hurt my hip and he came to my house and worked with me before I went on a vacation with my daughter. I van't picture a world without David. I won't know to call for help and idea's. The world is a much sadder and lonlier place without him. My condolences to his family and I can't even imagine the loss they are having.
